After being elected to the Bar Association last month, Xia Boyi said that some of the provisions of the "Minato National Security Law" violated the "Basic Law" and suggested that the "Minato National Security Law" should be amended, including the fact that the actions of the staff of the National Security Agency in Hong Kong are not subject to the jurisdiction of Hong Kong. The Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and the Liaison Office of the Central Committee of the People's Republic of China criticized Xia Boyi for spreading remarks that discredit China and challenge the national sovereignty and the bottom line of "one country, two systems."
