Libya: UN Security Council provides support to new transitional authorities

and

"to launch a comprehensive process of national reconciliation".

As it had already done in a previous declaration adopted on January 28, the Security Council also stresses the need to respect the cease-fire observed since the autumn and to proceed

Last week, the Security Council ordered the UN secretary general to deploy the vanguard of a ceasefire observer unit in Libya.

According to ex-acting UN envoy Stephanie Williams, it will be a

, comprising unarmed civilian observers.

"The Libyans have drawn up a list of nationalities" directly involved in the conflict that they do not want to see in this observation unit and "they are looking for observers from other countries,"
