"The Golan Heights will always remain part of Israel," the Prime Minister's Office said today (Tuesday) after US Secretary of State Anthony Blinkan withdrew from American recognition of Israeli sovereignty in the region.
"Israel's position is clear. In every possible scenario, the Golan Heights will remain Israeli," a spokesman for Prime Minister Netanyahu said.
Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ganz said in this context that work should be done together with the US administration to expand normalization with Arab countries and the recognition of the Golan Heights.
On a tour of the Judea and Samaria Division, Ganz added: "Returning to negotiations with the Palestinians is a key task of the next government.
The Palestinians must also understand this and a court will not help them, even if it is in The Hague. "

As you may recall, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken renounced during the night the US recognition of Israeli sovereignty in the Golan Heights, as granted during President Trump's term in 2019.
The secretary of state said this tonight during an interview with the American news network CNN.
Secretary Linken said the Golan Heights is of significant security importance to Israel, emphasizing that President Assad's administration and the presence of Iran - backed militias pose a danger to Israel.
But despite the security logic underlying Israeli control of the territory, Blinkan made it clear that the issue of sovereignty over the territory remained a legal question.
