Snowfall: in the Yvelines, there will be no class this Wednesday

2021-02-09T20:52:08.391Z

The decision was taken this Tuesday evening by the prefecture, the snowfall likely to make it difficult for school transport to circulate.

All schools should be closed this Wednesday in Yvelines due to expected snowfall in Ile-de-France, said the prefecture of the department.

Ditto for the school bus, which will not be insured.

However, a minimum reception will be guaranteed.

It must be said that 2 to 7 centimeters of snow, or even locally up to 10 centimeters, are expected in the Paris region overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, making the circulation of school transport complicated for middle school and high school students who would have had lessons this Wednesday morning.

Traffic cut off on the N118

The N118, one of the main black spots in Ile-de-France during bad weather, has already been closed this Tuesday evening.

One way to avoid the hassle that nearly a thousand vehicles had experienced in the winter of 2018. About 2,000 people had to spend the night in their car.

Elsewhere in the department and in Ile-de-France, the circulation of heavy goods vehicles of more than 7.5 tonnes has also been prohibited since Tuesday evening on the main roads.

In total, 31 departments were placed this Tuesday evening in orange “snow-ice” vigilance.
