The SPD calls for "a content orientation of our climate protection" under social aspects.
There will be workshops and a youth survey.
Unterhaching - “With European cucumber straightening you don't make good climate policy”: With this sentence the SPD parliamentary group chairman Peter Wöstenbrink rejected a certification of local climate policy according to the “European Energy Award” (EEA) in the Unterhaching municipal council;
Ultimately, there was no majority in favor of the CSU's EEA proposal.
As an alternative, the SPD called for “a content-related orientation of our climate protection” under social aspects by means of workshops and a youth survey.
"Unterhaching should be based on the 2030 Agenda"
"Unterhaching should be based on the 2030 Agenda and the German sustainability strategy of our federal government," said Wöstenbrink.
But: Both the federal climate protection plan 2050 and the district's initiative 29 ++ would treat energy and climate aspects “in detail, but also in isolation”.
The SPD is also committed to “consciously establishing social climate protection in Unterhaching” with a view to the 2030 Agenda and the sustainability strategy.
Idea of the Social Democrats: "Unterhachinger Procedure"
The idea of the social democrats: in the development of an “Unterhaching approach”, representatives from the local council should be involved in workshops.
"Expert knowledge from both citizens and municipal institutions should also be taken into account," said Wöstenbrink, "we expressly want young people to participate."
On the subject of youth and the environment, the SPD local chairwoman, Sabine Schmierl, made an additional application: the one following a “youth survey on recycling points”.
She has in mind a questionnaire that is supposed to raise young people's awareness of environmental issues, climate protection and sustainability through social media, the municipality website and the town hall journal “Dahoam in Unterhaching”.
