Biden does not call, Blinken is not enthusiastic: it

seems that the new administration in Washington is trying to give the government in Jerusalem a cold shoulder.

Although Jerusalem did not necessarily see the Secretary of State's statement as a negative sign and emphasized that Washington does not intend to reverse the decision to recognize Israel's sovereignty in the Golan, in the meantime the administration's behavior toward Israel seems somewhat childish.

This is precisely when the 78-year-old president is at the head of the system, whose main strength is his vast experience.

Blinkan's remarks mainly represent the current administration's reluctance to make decisions of the previous administration, even if they do not intend to reverse them.

This is the case in the Golan Heights, as well as regarding the decision to leave the embassy in Jerusalem.

The cold treatment shown to us by Biden and his people is also related to their past experience, especially when there was a significant deterioration in the personal relations between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and 44th President Barack Obama around the signing of the nuclear agreement with Iran.

Netanyahu did not then agree to align with the "enlightened" world and in Biden, as number 2, watched closely and studied.

Since the swearing-in ceremony, there has been no unusual crisis in Israeli-US relations. There has been no unusual intervention by a third party, a diplomatic problem or a misplaced statement. That the four-year spring under Trump has passed and will not return.

The problem now seems to be different, and it is not necessarily related to what is happening to us: now it is simply Israel's turn to pay the price of internal polarization in the United States. In the eyes of more radical Biden supporters, if you were an ally of Hide and seek, because the time for revenge has come.During the campaign, Biden was under tremendous pressure from his advisers, who urged him to constantly present himself as a 180-degree opposition to Trump.

Now, after the victory, the whole policy is being re-examined.

Trump recognized the Golan Heights decisively, so Biden would hesitate;

Trump leaves nuclear deal, Biden will enter;

Trump cut off contact with PA, Biden will reconnect;

Trump was Netanyahu's main ally, Biden will stay away and cool off.

However, it is important to remember that the center of gravity of the Biden administration is very far from the Middle East.

On the foreign affairs side, the corona - with nearly half a million deaths in the U.S., close to 100,000 new cases per day and a rising vaccine rate - will be the president's main focus in the near term.
