The Ebersberg-Munich energy agency is to provide neutral information on the five planned wind power plants in the Ebersberger Forest.

The centerpiece of this information campaign is now public.

District

- The information campaign by the Ebersberg Energy Agency on the five planned wind turbines in the Ebersberger Forest is taking shape.

The core item has been publicly available since Wednesday, February 10: the online presence.

There, the agency commissioned by the district council collects information - on the history and debate about wind power in general and, in particular, the planned project in the Ebersberg Forest and the related referendum on May 16.

We do not want to influence the citizens in how they decide.

But we want them to decide. "

Benjamin Hahn, spokesman for the energy agency

"We do not want to influence the citizens in how they decide," said Benjamin Hahn, spokesman for the energy agency at a virtual press round on Wednesday.

"But we want them to decide." All citizens entitled to vote receive postal voting documents without being asked;

A ballot at the deadline in your town hall is also possible.

The energy agency wants to achieve its goal of getting as many citizens as possible to vote on the rotors in the forest on numerous channels - from a direct mail to all households at the beginning of March to the good old poster, information stands at weekly markets and social media.

Bus excursions to existing facilities and citizen dialogues

At the larger events, the corona situation will play a role, the information campaign coordinator, Veronika Preißinger, restricts.

The first of three citizens' dialogues planned for March 18, April 28 and May 11 will probably take place virtually.

In May at the latest, Preißinger is hoping for a large presence event.

Six bus excursions to existing wind turbines are also planned: on March 25th and May 7th to the so far only wind turbine in the district, the one in Hamberg (municipality of Bruck).

However, trips to Berg in the Starnberg district (April 17, May 9) and to Fuchstal in the Landsberg am Lech district (March 20, April 18) should provide a better idea of what could arise in the Ebersberger Forest.

The systems there are also located in the forest and are closer to the dimensions that those in the Ebersberger Forest could assume - with a height of up to 250 meters.

During these excursions, an exchange with local residents is also planned.

"We do not want to appear missionary," promises energy agency spokesman Hahn.

He hopes that district citizens with open questions or skepticism about the project in the forest will get an idea on site: "We want to exchange controversial opinions."

Homepage with "fact check" on "blatant errors"

Two sub-items are particularly noticeable on the energy agency's information website, which has now been activated: the visualizations and the “fact check”.

For the first time, the energy agency publishes images that were created in cooperation with the Technical University of Munich.

It shows from different angles what the planned wind turbines should look like from the neighboring locations.

They would therefore be most prominently visible from Purfing (municipality of Vaterstetten).

In the “fact check”, the energy agency plans to take up public statements, such as in letters to the editor or open letters, that “contain glaring errors”, says Hahn, with regard to the facts.

"Even when it comes to fantastic wishful thinking among proponents of wind power." So far, the agency has responded to two opponents' votes.

Project coordinator Preißinger promises that "it is a living homepage" that is constantly being updated.

This also applies to the other areas on the website.

Expert opinion in summary and wording

Interested parties can find background information on the Ebersberger Forest as well as previous reports on the wind power project in summary and wording on the Energy Agency's wind power info homepage.

According to the district office, these would be completely recorded in chronological order.

Also available: a catalog of facts on topics related to wind power and the project, which the energy agency developed together with the Lower Nature Conservation Authority in the district office.
