(ANSA) - BARI, 10 FEB - As part of an investigation into alleged bribes in exchange for services to be provided to the Municipality of Foggia, the Guardia di Finanza arrested and placed four people under house arrest, including a councilor and an official of the Municipality of Foggia, and an entrepreneur.

Bribes to the Municipality of Foggia: 35 thousand euros for payment of invoices



(ANSA) - FOGGIA, 10 FEB - There is also 66-year-old Bruno Longo, councilor of the center-right majority in the Municipality of Foggia, among the four people arrested and placed under house arrest as part of the investigation by the Gdf for an alleged bribe from 35 thousand euros paid by an entrepreneur to obtain payment of some invoices from the Municipality. The other people arrested are Antonio Apicella, 70, a retired doctor; Luigi Panniello, 57, entrepreneur working in the computer sector in Molise; and Antonio Parente, in charge of the IT service at the Municipality of Foggia. The four are accused of undue inducement to give or promise benefits, in relation to an alleged bribe of 35 thousand euros paid in three installments, from 2018 to 2019, by the legal representative of a company in Campobasso that operates in the IT sector. The alleged bribe would have been paid to obtain the payment of three invoices issued by the company to the Municipality. According to what has been learned, the Campobasso company would have been awarded an annual contract in March 2017, then extended for 18 months, worth 370 thousand euros to archive computer data of the Municipality.
