A large-scale cyber attack strongly impacted Dax hospital on Tuesday, February 9.
Malware cut off all electronic devices such as phones and computers, impacting health care services.

, the deputy director of the Dax-Côte d'Argent hospital, Aline Gilet-Caubere, explained that “
this attack put our entire information system out of service by encryption of data.
The data has not been stolen, it is still on our servers, but it is encrypted and therefore can no longer be accessed
”.
In the afternoon, faced with a “
serious and complex
” situation, a crisis meeting was held while hospital staff were making arrangements.
All the teams have gone back to paper and pen while everything is computerized.

We are obliged to set up procedures degraded in paper mode
", adds management so that certain services are not too impacted.
According to a caregiver interviewed by France Bleu, "
the operating theaters could be put on hold"
since the sterilizers no longer work

Radiotherapy and chemotherapy departments may also be affected, the same source adds.
On Twitter, the University Hospital of Dax explained that it was doing everything "
to restore the situation as soon as possible
".
In the process, the Dax prosecutor's office announced that it had opened an investigation entrusted to the Bayonne judicial police.
