Covid-19: parents called in to reinforce schools in the Oise

2021-02-10T19:07:09.012Z

Faced with the absences of staff members affected by the virus, and to apply the reinforced health protocol, system D always prevails.

For now, it seems that no volunteers have made themselves known.

The appeal was however launched with the parents of pupils of the Romain-Rolland college of Mouy (Oise), in order to come and lend a hand to the school catering of the establishment.

“The Principal appealed to the parents during the board of directors on February 1,” indicates Julien Quintin, departmental secretary of the FSU Oise union.

She specified that the college does not have the human resources to be able to cope with the new health protocol and therefore will need volunteer parents to help with the catering service between 11:15 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Since then, contract agents have arrived, dispatched by the department, to help with the midday service.

As for the parents, if they did not rush, it is perhaps simply because they do not have the possibility of coming to help.

“It's not possible with my work, blows the mother of a college girl in front of the establishment.

The only day I could have done it was Wednesday, but there is no canteen… ”

This has already been seen.

“This is what the elected officials of Chantilly did when there were patients and contact cases in schools.

But in the longer term and in college, it seems trickier to me.

It is hard to imagine parents of students serving teachers in the canteen!

And it's a real job, there is a way of working or of addressing children.

You can't do just anything.

In Senlis, parents to watch the recess

The fact remains that system D and the use of parents or outside workers have become more frequent in the course of a health crisis that continues.

In Senlis, at the Fontaine-des-Prés college, the parents of students thus turned into educational assistants for a few days, at the end of 2020, to replace the staff affected by the coronavirus.

A role assumed by force of circumstances and which reinforced the conviction of the parents of Senlis students about the lack of human resources in the college, and a need for reinforcements, which they underlined by mail on three occasions to of the Ministry of National Education.

In Compiègne last month, it was the lifeguards of the swimming pool who reinforced the team of guides in the canteen.

A helping hand that they all gladly gave since the swimming pools in the city are still closed.

The health crisis and the additional difficulties it has brought to light will at least have developed solidarity with the educational community.
