2021-02-10T18:10:43.432Z

A father appears before the court of Nanterre, from February 10 to 12. He is accused of having killed his son in 2015, and lived with his corpse until its discovery in 2017.

It is a family story to say the least gloomy that the Hauts-de-Seine assize court must judge this Wednesday, February 10.

Until Friday, February 12, Mohieddine D., 69, is tried for "murder on a 15-year-old minor by an ascendant", indicates the Nanterre prosecutor's office in

Figaro

.

He will have to answer questions on the circumstances of the death in 2015 of his son, whose corpse was found a year and a half later in his apartment, reveals

Le Parisien

.

He incurs life imprisonment.

Eviction procedure

The body of the young teenager, aged 14 at the time of the facts, was discovered on June 6, 2017 by a bailiff, a locksmith and members of the police during an eviction procedure: the father of the family did not pay plus the rent of his two-room apartment in Neuilly-sur-Seine for about a year, according to his statements.

Father and son had lived together in this apartment for about 3 years.

They knocked on the door and they heard someone asking them to be patient.

As the person did not open, they entered and discovered just behind the door that the man had just stabbed himself in the stomach,

”explains the Nanterre prosecutor's office.

A few yards down the hallway of the apartment is her son's body, "

wrapped in blankets and curtains,

" in an advanced state of decay.

Urgently hospitalized, the father was immediately taken into police custody and heard for the first time at Bichat hospital by investigators, where he explains that his son fell on a knife after an argument.

He reports that the latter threatened to "

screw up

" if they left for the Christmas holidays with their family in Algeria.

When the investigators ask him why he did not call for help, the father replies that he was in a state of bewilderment during the events.

But the words of the father do not coincide with the results of the autopsy, which indicate that the body is marked by several stab wounds, especially in the back.

As soon as he left the hospital on June 19, 2017, Mohieddine D. was placed in detention.

"A general depression"

Friends of the young man as well as the college where he was educated were concerned about his absence during the start of the January 2016 school year. His father reassured the establishment and his comrades, indicating sometimes that his son was continuing his studies in Algeria, sometimes that he was on vacation with his family.

But more often than not, he did not respond to requests from those around his son.

"

The establishment was not worried more because the college knew that the child had many ties in Algeria, that he made regular round trips, and that sometimes the child returned later from vacation

", we specify.

The Nanterre public prosecutor's office also underlines that the death of the mother, who died of cancer in September 2014, two years before her son, is "

very significant

" in the case: the whole family would have been deeply marked by this event, leading to "

General depression

".

Today, if the father acknowledges having lived with the corpse of his son, he denies having committed the murder and claims that the cause of death is accidental.
