In Germany, parliament is due to vote on a bill requiring at least one woman on the board of directors of large companies with more than three directors.

During a conference organized by Medef on professional equality, the minister declared herself "

a little annoyed to see Germany take a very strong position on the subject, whereas we were one step ahead with quotas on boards of directors

”.

Agnès Pannier-Runacher added that the government has "

a roadmap for the future around this theme

".

Germany opened the door at the beginning of January to more feminization of the governing bodies of its large companies.

According to a bill on which parliament has yet to vote, at least one woman will have to sit on the management committees of large companies with more than three directors.

In France, the Ministers of the Economy, Labor and Gender Equality, Bruno Le Maire, Elisabeth Borne and Elisabeth Moreno, spoke at the end of January in favor of the establishment of quotas for women in executive committees (Comex ) and corporate leadership, they say are needed to help break the “glass ceiling”.

Bruno Le Maire had previously indicated that he wanted a bill on this subject to be presented in mid-March.

The Copé-Zimmermann law adopted in 2011 already imposes 40% of women on boards of directors.

In 2019, it enabled women to reach 43.6% of the board members' seats in the 120 companies making up the SBF 120 stock market index. On the other hand, still in 2019, there were only 17% of women in the management committees of SBF120 companies.
