PJ hits out "thieves in the law" mafia

STORY - Some 26 members of this "army" of Russian-speaking mobsters have been arrested in western France.


The specialized units of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) have just dealt a severe blow against one of the most poisonous forms of the Russian-speaking mafia which is rampant in France.

After two years of investigation, the Central Office for the Fight against Organized Crime (OCLCO) dismantled on Tuesday and Wednesday a formidable team of "vor y zakone", "thieves in the law", some recognizable by bulbs orthodox, compass roses and other daggers that they wear tattooed on the body.
