To mark the spirits and convince that he takes environmental issues into consideration, Emmanuel Macron wants the organization of a referendum on the climate before the end of the five-year term.
It would aim to complete Article 1 of the Constitution, to specify that France
"guarantees the preservation of the environment and biological diversity and the fight against climate change"
.
The constitutional bill was already presented to the Council of Ministers on January 20.
It remains for the deputies and senators to adopt it in conformity for the referendum to see the light of day.
This is where the hard part begins.
