Lattakia-Sana
In continuation of the programs of rehabilitation and support for those discharged from compulsory and reserve service, the branch of the Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics, in cooperation with the Lattakia Governorate, launched a program to rehabilitate and train the laid-offs on information technology and computer leadership, free of charge for those who succeeded in the competition that the Ministry of Administrative Development completed last month.
The program, which lasts intensively for a period of two weeks, includes training laid-offs in computer leadership sciences within the association's laboratories in Latakia to complete any kind of work that can be entrusted to them in the different sectors in which they will work.
The head of the association’s branch in Latakia, Eng. Maryam Fayyad, explained that the initiative is consistent with the association’s role in supporting various community entities and using information technologies to improve society. It comes as a continuation of the initiative that the association’s branch launched two years ago to train the families of the martyrs in the sciences of information technology.
Fayyad indicated that contact has been made with the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor and Lattakia Governorate to send the lists of successful first category, from which 100 trainees have been contacted according to the occupational capacity of the Society's laboratories and upon completion of the first session, the second batch of them will be contacted to complete the list of all successful participants in the competition for the first category .
Fayyad indicated that the session aims to provide the successful people in the competition with practical and scientific skills that enable them to perform the work that will be entrusted to them in their jobs with public authorities.
Trainees from university graduates found in this initiative a new opportunity to develop their skills and enhance them with office and computer work before entering their public office duties after they joined their comrades in the Syrian Arab Army with weapons to defend Syria, including Sumer Al-Sheikh, a graduate of the Faculty of Economics, who indicated to SANA that he performed his obligatory and reserve service for a period of time. 8 years and two months, he noted the importance of the initiative in enabling the laid-offs to retrieve their information or obtain new information to help them with their work.
Translation graduate Bashar Youssef Dagher pointed out that the initiative confirms the continued interest in the demobilized and extended a helping hand to them because it is aimed at developing their skills, which was confirmed by Atef Ahmed Rajab, who pointed out the importance of the course in providing useful skills in any public body in which the demobilized is accepted.
The trainer at the association, Maram Jouriyeh, explained that the training program is focused on providing laid-offs with skills in conducting reports, accounting programs, correspondence and official reports between public departments and striving to cover all the essentials required in the work that they can be assigned to, noting the response of the trainees to the training programs and the capabilities they possess.
