Trump's impeachment trial once again turned into a political battle today (Wednesday).

After the main allegations against the former president for inciting the uprising were presented yesterday, Democrats today presented information that they claim proves how much the mob that attacked Capitol Hill after the rally Trump attended in early January could have physically harmed them.

These are photos that have not yet been shown from the bloody events of January 6.

As you may recall, Democrats in the House of Representatives filed an indictment against President Trump just days before the end of his term for these incidents, alleging that he incited the attack on Congress while the vice president and lawmakers counted the electorate and were about to declare Joe Biden president-elect.

The indictment was approved in a flash and was submitted to the Senate and the trial opened this week, but according to Trump and his defense team, the constitution does not allow a trial for a president who has ceased to serve.

If convicted by a two-thirds majority in the Senate, which is unlikely given the lack of Republican support, Trump is expected to be disqualified by a further vote from any future federal administration position, meaning he will not be able to serve as president again.

In a lawsuit today, Democrats claimed Trump was "the main instigator of the uprising" because he had been involved in incitement for months, creating a dangerous situation for the nation since election night in November in an attempt to blame the election results.

But according to Trump's defense team, he never called for violence and only called for appealing the results in a democratic process.

Congressman Joe Ngusa, a member of the Democratic impeachment team, said: "When the president made his statements, people listened. His armed supporters surrounded the homes of election officials. Georgia's secretary of state received threats on his life. Senior officials warned the president That his rhetoric is dangerous and that it will lead to deadly violence, and that is what makes these events different. When he saw with his own eyes the violence that his conduct caused, he did not stop it, nor condemned it. He would refuel it further. Who summoned the mob? Who spurred them? Who "Did you incite them? You know like me - that was the president. Congress must respond. Our mission here is not one of politics, but of conscience."

Congressman Jamie Raskin, director of the Democratic Disarmament Team: "This is a far worse case than someone lying and shouting 'fire' in a crowded theater. It's more a case where the head of the fire department - who is paid to put out fires - sends a mob to set the theater on fire. "Thunder, and the cries for help from the fire brigade begin to be heard, he does nothing but lean back, encourage the mob to continue to happily watch the fire spread on TV."

Raskin rejected the claim that Trump's remarks were protected by freedom of expression.

He explained that while citizens can speak in a certain way, and even support U.S. enemies, a person serving as president has a different duty. "If you are the president, you have chosen a time side to swear in," Raskin added. "If you swear, we can oust, Convict, remove and determine that you are no longer qualified to hold an official position. "
