This Thursday, Stéphane Le Diraison crossed the finish line of the Vendée Globe in Les Sables d'Olonne after 95 days, 8 hours, 16 minutes of racing around the world alone, without stopover and without assistance.
A finish line that resonates like a deliverance for the 44-year-old sailor who has suffered numerous damages and almost abandoned twice, but who therefore ends the Vendée Globe for the first time after his dismasting in 2016. He is the 18th to cross the finish line and there are still seven boats in the race.
