There is great concern about the rapid spread of the corona virus in Germany, now a neighboring country seems to have major problems with a corona mutation.
Due to massive numbers of infections, the Czech Republic is now even sealing off three border districts from the outside world.
Residents are no longer allowed to leave the respective district, people from outside are not allowed to enter the districts.
Health Minister Jan Blatny announced on Thursday in Prague.
The districts of Cheb (Eger) and Sokolov (Falkenau) on the border with Bavaria and Trutnov (Trautenau) in the border triangle with Poland and Saxony are affected.
There the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants is three to four times as high as in other parts of the country.
The measures should take effect on Friday night.

An exception applies, for example, to the way to the workplace, but written evidence must be submitted for this.

In order to further curb the spread of the mutation in these districts, around one million respiratory masks are being distributed to the population free of charge. The more contagious British variant had recently spread particularly strongly in the Trutnov district.
The Czech Republic is severely affected by the Corona crisis.
Nationwide, authorities reported 9,446 new cases on Thursday.
There have been more than a million confirmed infections and 17,772 deaths since the pandemic began.
The EU member state has around 10.7 million inhabitants.
Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder had therefore no longer ruled out a border closure.
"Should the Czech Republic not be able to extend its emergency measures, then it must also be clear that the Czech Republic is a mutation area and then the border closure must also be an issue," said the CSU boss on Wednesday evening in the ZDF-heute-journal.
