Formula 1, on alert: Fernando Alonso was run over by a car while training with his bicycle

The Spanish Fernando Alonso, who will return to Formula 1 this season aboard an Alpine team car (ex Renault), was run over by a car while training by bicycle on a route in Lugano, Switzerland, according to the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Asturian, who practices cycling as part of his physical preparation for the races, was treated immediately after the accident by the emergency services of that city.

And he was taken to a hospital in the area to assess the severity of his injuries.

According to that Italian media, he would have suffered some fractures, although it was not known in which part of the body.
