Unknown to the police and gendarmerie services according to the magistrate, the 25-year-old suspect was arrested late Wednesday morning in Bagnols-en-Forêt, about thirty kilometers from Mons, while he was walking on a path.
"A DNA trace found near the crime scene made the family link with the suspect then surveillance of the town and the surrounding area made it possible to locate and apprehend him"

The arrest was carried out by soldiers from the Observation and Surveillance Group (GOS) of the gendarmerie.
