The municipality of Lechbruck saddles a request for advice on top of the petition against the planned new hotel building on Lechsee.

The local council agreed on this unanimously on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the dispute between the camps is becoming ever more acute.

  • The local council in Lechbruck saddles a request for a council on top of the petition

  • The councils want to confirm their approval of the hotel plans

  • Meanwhile, the dispute in the citizenry is getting more intense

Lechbruck - Anonymous abuse letters, mutual accusations, insults in social networks: The dispute over the new hotel building in Lechbruck is getting fierce.

Mayor Werner Moll found himself forced on Tuesday in the local council to talk to the citizens who were at war.

"I appeal to both parties to deal fairly with each other, without skirmishes and rude remarks," he demanded and recalled: "There is also life after the referendum."

Citizens can vote on March 21st

As is well known, it will take place in Lechbruck on March 21st, and the town council is hoping for a “yes” from the citizens to the construction of the four-star hotel with 140 rooms including a wellness area and sky bar.

As reported, the municipality would like to sell its property on the Lechsee to an investor who wants to have the indoor pool ruins and tennis hall torn down at their own expense.

Asking the question is easier in the council request

Most recently, the municipal councils had discussed behind closed doors whether they would support their approval of the plans with a request for a council.

They made it public for the first time on Tuesday.

“It is nothing exotic or reprehensible, and certainly nothing illegal,” explained the mayor, recalling that in Bavaria, 70 percent of all citizens' requests are accompanied by requests for advice.

In Lechbruck, according to his information, it is now a matter of citizens being able to clearly see that they are voting for or against the hotel.

The question of the citizens' initiative is "formulated in a complicated way".

The local councils recognize even more advantages

In their requests to speak, the municipal councils also mentioned other advantages which, in their opinion, speak in favor of a council request.

Among other things, the “objectivity requirement” was named, to which the community representatives must adhere to a referendum.

“We are very limited in the way we can advertise,” it said.

In the context of their request for advice, however, the municipal councils do not have to mince their words: "We can freely and aggressively advertise the hotel project."

Mayor: The footpath on the Lechsee will be preserved, probably as a bridge solution

In the discussion, the mayor once again referred to the footpath on the Lechsee, which had been questioned during the hotel planning (we reported).

"It is definitely off the table that the way is behind the hotel", assured Moll and referred to discussions with the water management office and investor Gerhard Breher.

Accordingly, a walkway solution is now favored for the path.

"You could say that it will be even more attractive," said Moll.

Ultimately, the proposed resolution at the start of the council request was passed unanimously.

Citizens can now answer with “yes” or “no” whether they are in favor of the planning-law requirements for the new hotel building being created.

In the referendum, the question is posed the other way around, as is well known: Anyone who is against the project must vote with "Yes".

Key question in the referendum

A key question was also resolved, which applies if “the questions put to the vote at the same time are answered in a manner that cannot be mutually agreed”.

It is quite simple: "New hotel building yes or no?"

Citizen attacks mayor and councilors in letters

A letter that Armin-Peter Sonnenberg from Lechbruck wanted to distribute shortly before the start of the meeting caused a scandal.

He misses a feasibility study and verifiable figures in the public presentation of the hotel plans.

Among other things, the letter also states: “Do you know the beneficiaries who would benefit from the decision?

The village radio calls names! ”With a view to the request for advice and the easier question, Sonnenberg asks,“ How stupid ”Moll thinks the citizens and speaks of“ technical incompetence ”among the local councils.

The mayor replied during the meeting: “I don't think any citizen is stupid.

Mr. Sonnenberg, that's not how you treat each other. "

Citizens' initiative emphasizes that they have never driven a wedge into the village community

The citizens' initiative emphasized yesterday that they had never driven a wedge into the village community.

“We only put the topic of hotel construction on the upper Lechsee openly on the table.” You are not involved in the discussions on “Facebook”.
