A craftsman from near Munich explains what the Corona policy means for him.

Ismaning - Tom Schweiger, 36, has owned a hairdressing salon in Ismaning, a suburb northeast of Munich, since 2009.

The craftsman sees himself prepared for the expected onslaught after the corona lockdown * has ended.

How did you react to the decision that you are only allowed to open on March 1st?

Shocked at first.

In our district of Munich, there are currently only 243 infected for every 340,000 inhabitants.

We would like to open immediately.

Anyway, I would like to wait and see if it really turns out that way.

Or whether they should not extend the lockdown for hairdressers to March 14th in the last week of February.

Politicians are always very volatile when it comes to their statements.

The corona lockdown was extended on February 10th: Here is an overview of the currently valid rules.

Corona lockdown in Bavaria: hairdresser speaks of an immoral offer

How many inquiries are you currently receiving despite the ban on cutting?

Incredibly many.

A customer recently offered me 100 euros for a men's haircut, but I stayed tough.

When we can safely open again, I will announce this on our website and on social media.

Then I'll be on the phone the week before the opening to make appointments.

And who will come first?

First call, first served.

But when long-standing regular customers contact us and we are full, then my employees and I come earlier or stay longer to serve them.

We have been around for a long time, and we owe that to them too.

This is our little thank you.

Hairdresser visit after corona lockdown: big rush or mild breeze?

Are you afraid of the crowd that is coming your way?

One always worries.

Even after the first lockdown, there were a lot of customers who just dropped by, but we always had that under control.

In the meantime, many women have probably dyed their hair themselves, and men have done their own cutting.

The six weeks in the first lockdown could be bridged in terms of hairstyle.

Very few wait the ten weeks that it is now.

Will something change in the hygiene concept?

We have received the new requirements from the employers' liability insurance association.

There it says that only one person per ten square meters can be in the shop.

For a 90 square meter salon like mine, that means shift work so that there aren't too many employees on site and there is no longer any space for customers.

Is the demand for visits to the hairdresser currently even greater than that for vaccination doses?

Currently it is.

But of course there are not enough vaccines.

The corona vaccine in Germany is scarce.

The vaccination is going slowly.

Now the weather chaos is slowing down - and the Ethics Council warns.
