Munich - Since December 27, the first people in Germany have been vaccinated against the corona virus *.

Since then, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) and the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) have been documenting how many people receive a dose per day.

How many people per 100 inhabitants were vaccinated in your federal state and how the corona vaccinations in Germany are going can be found in our data elements.

Corona vaccination rates in Germany at the federal state level

How is it in my state?

In the following map of Germany you will find the vaccination numbers of all federal states.

The more intense the green color, the higher the vaccination rate in a country comparison.

By clicking on a federal state, you will find the exact rate per 100 inhabitants as well as the absolute numbers of first and second vaccinations.

This distinction is relevant as each person must be injected two doses to ensure maximum protection.

Corona vaccination: RKI assumes a required immunity of 70 percent of the population

What percentage of the population should be vaccinated?

The RKI explains on its website that this question combines two aspects.

On the one hand, it is about the protection of the individual.

For those who have been vaccinated, the personal risk of falling seriously ill with Covid-19 decreases.

So from a personal perspective, vaccination is recommended.

In relation to society as a whole, according to the RKI, the models show that

an immunity of 70 percent of the population will end the pandemic.

Immunity can not only result from vaccination, but a person who has survived Covid-19 disease could also be immune to the virus.

However, it is still a matter of dispute whether everyone who has tested positive for the virus will actually be and remain immune later.

Nevertheless, people who have already been infected will not be vaccinated for the time being.

The following graphic shows the proportion of the German population that has already received the first and second vaccination dose.

So far, two vaccines have been approved in the European Union: the substance from the German company Biontech * since December 21, 2020 and that from Moderna since January 6, 2021. Both vaccines must be administered twice to be fully effective.

Depending on the manufacturer, a minimum interval of 21 or 28 days is necessary, with a maximum of 42 days between the two vaccinations, as the RKI explains.

The vaccination numbers published by the RKI show which vaccines have been administered.

The following diagram shows the distribution.

Corona vaccination: tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of doses per day

Almost 24,000 people received the first dose on the first day of vaccination in Germany.

Little by little, the vaccination centers and mobile vaccination teams were able to increase the capacity per day, as can be seen in the following diagram.

It shows the doses inoculated per day since the start of vaccination on December 27, 2020, broken down by type of vaccination.

For technical reasons on the part of the data sources, the graphics in this article are not automatically updated for the time being.

We are working on improving our offer.

In addition, the RKI also wants to collect and publish data on vaccination readiness in the population in the future.

We are planning to include this in our data offer in the future.

In addition, as the data / interactive team of the Ippen-Digital-Netzwerk *, we provide current figures on the 7-day incidences in Germany and the occupancy of intensive care beds.
