The White House said tonight (Thursday) that President Joe Biden expects to hold talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu soon.
The president and prime minister have not spoken since his inauguration more than three weeks ago, and many have wondered if this indicates tensions between the two leaders, who have a long-standing relationship since Biden served as Barack Obama's deputy and his days as senator.
Biden has talked to this day with the leaders of the superpowers and allies of the United States in Europe and Asia, as well as with the presidents of Russia and Shin, America's prominent rivals.
Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken tried to downplay this week the fact that the president and Netanyahu have not spoken to date, saying he expects it to happen soon.
