The head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, insisted this Thursday that the works planned in education and other areas for 2021 were postponed due to

"the drop in the unconstitutional co-participation promoted by the Government."

"The reduction of works both in education and in the rest of the works in the City has to do with the decrease in the co-participation that the National Government promoted in a way as we already said unconstitutional," said the official, in the press conference where he provided details of the return of face-to-face classes in the City.

With 40 affirmative votes and 25 negative votes, the ruling party managed last December to turn into law the bill that modifies the funds that the Nation will allocate to the City of Buenos Aires on security matters.

The Buenos Aires government denounced that due to the reduction of items it will lose only $ 65,083 million in 2021 that should be allocated to the Buenos Aires security.

And he also warned that large infrastructure works were going to be suspended as a "palliative" to the withdrawal of funds from the co-participation sanctioned in the Senate of the Nation.

The drain of funds to the City began in September, when Máximo Kirchner made the idea he had defended since March come true: defunding the Buenos Aires police to transfer funds to the province of Buenos Aires.
