Catching votes: How Corona determines the agenda in the super election year

The corona pandemic dominates everything, issues such as climate protection or migration rarely appear in political discourse. Here you can hear what that means in a year with numerous parliamentary elections.

Early on in the corona pandemic, it was said that the crisis was the hour of the executive.

In the meantime, this hour has turned into a year, and Germany is still in crisis mode.

2021 should actually be the year of the legislature: With six state elections and the federal election, Germany has a super election year ahead of it.

Do other issues besides the corona pandemic have a chance of becoming important in the election campaign?

And who could benefit if the crisis were under control in time for the general election?

Vote-catching host Marius Mestermann spoke to political scientist Thorsten Faas in search of answers.

The professor from Berlin estimates the consequences of Corona for the super election year in the podcast.

And Theresa Crysmann asked around in Berlin and found out which issues citizens are concerned with after a year in pandemic mode.
