The citizens' initiative (BI) for a liveable Germering wants to prevent the development of the Kreuzlinger Feld with a referendum.

The signatures will be collected from next Thursday.

Germering - The BI For a liveable place Germering has been fighting for three years against what they consider to be too dense development in the Kreuzlinger Feld.

In February 2018, the initiators around spokesman Thomas Langnickel handed over 639 signatures against the plans at the time.

Around 1000 new apartments for up to 200 people in up to five-story buildings were the main debates at the time.

In the meantime, the numbers have shifted slightly downwards, and a fifth floor has been completely deleted from the planning.

Shortly before the end of the current development plan procedure, BI does not have the impression that its objections have been taken seriously.

Langnickel: "None of that was implemented."

Citizens' petition Kreuzlinger Feld: 2500 signatures required

The active representatives of the BI have therefore decided to start a referendum.

despite the adverse circumstances due to the corona-related contact restrictions, Langnickel is confident that enough signatures can be collected.

In order to reach a referendum, the support of around 2500 Germeringers who are eligible to vote is necessary.

Landgnickel bases his confidence, among other things, on the fact that the BI has not only established numerous contacts in recent years, but has also collected signatures twice - in November representatives of the BI handed over 1,400 signatures to Mayor Andreas Haas to emphasize their demands to rent.

Citizens' petition Kreuzlinger Feld: These are the points of criticism

BI's criticism is still directed against the height of the buildings, the type of development with building blocks up to 50 meters long and the traffic load to be expected for the entire city area.

Thomas Langnickel attaches importance to the fact that BI is not concerned with preventing any development of the Kreuzlinger Feld.

The current plans were at the expense of all Germeringers.

The aim of the request is therefore to stop the current planning process for construction phase I (residential development) and construction phase II (local shops, school and childcare) for the time being.

With a referendum, the process is to be finally stopped and the way is cleared for a new, contemporary planning process.
