Two hydrogen filling stations are to be built in the Ebersberg district.
According to the district administration, the project should be implemented in "two to three years".
District
- There will soon be two new hydrogen filling stations in the Ebersberg district.
The district office announced on Thursday evening.
An H2 filling station is planned in Schlacht bei Glonn near the Ettenuber bus company, and a second in Grafing.
In 2019, the district, together with the districts of Landshut and Munich as well as other project partners from industry and science, successfully applied to the Federal Ministry of Transport as part of the “HyLand-Hydrogen Region in Germany” funding program.
The aim of the project is the generation of green hydrogen from renewable energies and the consumption of this hydrogen in the three districts involved.
20 million euros in funding will flow into the region over the next few years.
As part of the overall project, the Ebersberg district primarily plans to use fuel cell buses in local public transport.
Gas stations in Schlacht and Grafing
Initially, only one location could be found in the district with Schlacht.
An application came from the district council to look for further central locations.
In addition to Ettenhuber, who applied for the hydrogen project from the start, the Reisberger bus company (Frauenneuharting) has expressed interest in operating a hydrogen bus.
According to the district office, it is in agreement with the Grafing location.
The additional costs for a total of five hydrogen buses are to be borne by the district with a total of a maximum of 850,000 euros annually over the six-year funding period.
