Ben Gurion Airport is expected to reopen in eight days, three weeks after it was decided to close it to prevent mutations of corona virus into Israel.

Ahead of the reopening, the Ministry of Health is expected to request an extension of the closure of the sky if no technological solution is found to maintain the isolation of returnees from abroad.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, only about 33% 67% of returnees have developed symptoms of the virus these days, and data shows that enforcing isolation will lead to the removal of the threat of mutant intrusion, making it possible to return flights safely.

One option is off the table down to enforce the application or isolates using ISA positioning, because that those leave their mobile phone at the time they are breaking the isolation. Thus, there is no real possibility to follow them and to impose penalties.

Another option is electronic handcuffs tested by wearing back over The days of isolation, and so it will be possible to identify them. This possibility was also rejected after Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit claimed that there were legal difficulties in requiring it. Now, the Ministry of Justice proposes to find an effective technological solution, but no one has yet found it.

At the same time, Israel's land crossing, the Allenby Crossing in the Jordan Valley, was closed to entry and exit after many Israelis used it to enter Israel. If they decide to extend the closure of Ben Gurion Airport, the crossing will also remain closed.

Electronic restraint was dropped.

80% of the positive tests today are the British mutation that infiltrated Israel with returnees from abroad, and caused an outbreak of serious illness. Thanks to the long closure, Israel was able to stop the spread of the South African mutation, which currently has only 80 Israelis infected.

On February 23, the second phase of the opening of the economy is expected to arrive, which will include the opening of cultural performances, restaurants and gyms for the vaccinated, as well as the opening of fifth-sixth and eleventh-twelfth grades in green, yellow and some orange cities.

The Ministry of Health fears that opening the skies without enforcing the isolation will lead to further penetration of mutations, the spread of the disease and possibly even a return to further restrictions.
