Ten new places for crèche children, five of which are still available: This is the location in the municipality of Berg.

Yesterday, Mayor Rupert Steigenberger presented the new day care.

The calculation that this daycare center could relieve the kindergarten in Aufkirchen is apparently not working.

Berg

- The 17 month old Philine and the 13 month old Ludwig are the first two Berger lucky beetles.

Two of the ten ladybirds folded from red and black paper on the wall in the lounge in the new day care center in Berg have their names on them.

Next week, childminder Alessandra Nebhuth wants to acclimate two more lucky beetles.

So far, five have registered, which means: Five of the ten places for small children are still available.

A pleasant situation for the Berg community, which has always had gaps in childcare for crèche children between the ages of zero and three in recent years.

Mayor Rupert Steigenberger was all the more pleased yesterday that he was able to officially hand over the rooms at Postgasse 5 to the head of day care, Adelina Zuka, and her colleagues Nebhuth and Jeannette Theil.

Four rooms became two by tearing out walls.

The floors are now barrier-free, the bathroom is equipped with a small toilet and washbasin suitable for children.

The conversion cost 85,000 euros, 5,000 less than estimated.

It got more expensive after all: According to Steigenberger, during the rededication it turned out that the parking spaces for the four-party house had to be reorganized and paved.

That cost another 50,000 euros.

The operator contributed the furnishing of the lounge, the ten travel beds in the relaxation room and the kitchen.

Zuka already runs a day care facility in Germering, the sun beetles.

She had already approached the Berg community four years ago because she wanted to open a large day care facility.

Child minders take care of the small children.

“A childminder can look after five children at home,” she explained.

“Two can therefore look after ten children here.” When an apartment on the ground floor of the communal building became vacant, the town hall reacted quickly.

And Zuka was happy - also because of the large, fenced garden.

The lucky beetles are looked after from Monday to Thursday from 7.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Fridays from 7.30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"I know parents who would like to have a longer period of care," said Steigenberger, but immediately added that Zuka's commitment in Berg helps the community a lot.

A caterer contributes the food for the children.

Alessandra Nebhuth is already working, Theil will join in March.

It is planned to hire a part-time employee for the morning, said Zuka.

Steigenberger's idea of giving smaller children from the St. Maria Kindergarten in Aufkirchen to the Glückskäfer in order to relieve the strained personnel situation in St. Maria does not work.

“The offer is available, but at the moment the parents want to let their children in Aufkirchen.” Also because siblings are there.

"Unfortunately, that doesn't ease the situation in Aufkirchen," said the mayor.

As long as the parents' council and kindergarten are satisfied with the situation, that's fine with him.
