Birgit Köppe-Gaisendrees, 61, heads the medical child protection clinic in Remscheid.

A team of paediatricians, specialists from the social pediatric center and from child and adolescent psychiatry work there with around 400 children a year who have experienced severe neglect, abuse or sexual abuse.
