A truck loaded with gas exploded in the Islam Qala region on the Iranian-Afghan border from the Afghan side, causing large fires in the area.
The Iranian Fars News Agency quoted Ruhollah Latifi, the Iranian customs spokesman, as saying that “a huge explosion occurred at the zero border point in the customs of Islam Qala as a result of the explosion of a gas tank,” pointing out that the General Administration of Iranian Customs in the Khorasan Razavi Governorate, opposite the border point, opened the return paths for trucks To keep away from potential dangers.
Latifi explained that gas and fuel trucks were removed from the scene of the accident for a distance of more than 5 kilometers, indicating that helicopters and Iranian relief teams were sent to the scene in coordination between the two sides.
