The daily death toll from the Coronavirus in Russia has decreased again to a level below 15,000, while the total deaths from the epidemic are close to the 80,000 threshold.

Russia Today website quoted the operations room for fighting the outbreak of the coronavirus as saying in its daily report that "14,861 new cases of corona were recorded during the past twenty-four hours, compared to 15089 cases the previous day."

The new infections were distributed among all the 85 regions of Russia, led by the capital, Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

During the last day, the Russian health authorities monitored 502 new deaths due to Covid 19 infection, compared to 507 deaths the previous day, while 18,765 patients were cured.

The total number of corona cases in Russia since the start of the pandemic has reached four million and 57,698 cases, including 79,696 deaths, 400095 active cases, three million and 577,907 recoveries.

Since the beginning of this year, Russia has recorded a remarkable gradual decline in the pace of the Corona outbreak, due to the continuation of the large-scale free vaccination campaign that was launched last December using the "Sputnik V" vaccine.
