Clément Martin, spokesperson for Génération Identitaire, deplores "
a political maneuver on the part of the government
", and warns of "
the use of all possible legal means to contest this decision
", motivated by "
actions for which we do not 'we have not been condemned

“
We are whistleblowers, just like Greenpeace.
We are criticized for the very object of our fight, they try to silence us while we are peacefully opposed to mass immigration
”.
In the event of dissolution, Generation Identitaire assures us: “
the fight against Islamization and for French and European identity will continue well beyond our movement.
"
The decision to dissolve it was instigated by the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin, after he said Tuesday, January 26, "
scandalized
" by several anti-migrant operations of Generation Identity at the French borders, in the Pyrenees in particular.
Several elected officials had also requested this dissolution.
Génération Identitaire had carried out an operation of the same ilk in the Hautes-Alpes in April 2018. Three activists were sentenced by the Gap court in first instance, before being released on appeal last December.
The movement was also noticed by the general public by deploying a banner on which was inscribed "
Justice for the victims of anti-white racism."
