The short-term loans granted by the Agricultural Cooperative Bank branches in Al-Sanamayn, Nawa, Azra, and Khirbet Ghazala in Daraa governorate secured the farmers' needs of seeds and fertilizers, thus a large number of farmers returned to practicing agricultural work after a hiatus during the years of the terrorist war.
The head of the Daraa Farmers Union, Muhammad Hashem al-Jundi, stated in a statement to SANA's correspondent that loans are available in all branches of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank with easy procedures, explaining that the loans have contributed to the growth and development of production significantly in the recent period.
Al-Jundi added that the state of security and stability in the governorate reflected positively on the agricultural reality, and the farmers returned to their usual work by taking advantage of the loans granted by the agricultural banks to secure their needs of seeds and fertilizers.
Director of the Agricultural Bank branch in the city of Daraa, Abdullah Ayyash, stated in a similar statement that the branches of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank in the governorate granted during the 2020/2021 agricultural season to agricultural associations and individuals short-term loans with a total value of 559,276 million pounds.
In turn, the director of the bank branch in al-Sanamayn, Majed al-Hariri, explained that the total value of short-term loans granted to farmers and breeders in the al-Sanamayn branch this season exceeded 255,210 million pounds, including short-term loans to associations, individuals and poultry farmers, amounting to 152,153 million pounds, and medium-term loans to individuals and associations amounting to 103,056 million pounds.
He pointed out that liquidity is available in the branch, and additional appropriations are requested in the event of increased demand, indicating that the bank has working mechanisms that ensure easy loans in parallel with guarantees for the payment of dues.
