The Jewish writer Marek Halter was attacked at his home on the night of Friday 12 to Saturday 13 February,

The officer of the Legion of Honor, who is preparing a book entitled "
A world without prophets
" which will be released on March 4, tells us about his assault.

I had dozed off in my chair, correcting my manuscript, when I sensed a presence and saw a hooded man above me, and another in my doorway,"
explains the writer. .
Both wore black gloves and looked professional, nimble to me.

He then kicked me a few times, leaving me with bruises and a few wounds.

The two attackers were said to have passed through a window in his home.
Marek Halter confides in

that the two individuals who entered his home did not steal anything.

They took out and left my credit card on the table, to kind of show that this was not what interested them.
They also took my keys, as if they were planning on coming back.
The Polish-born intellectual has been attacked several times in his life.

Usually, a few anti-Semitic or racist words are launched but there, nothing, as if they just wanted to warn me.
According to the author, the forthcoming release of his book "
A world without prophets
", in which he attacks
the
religious "
intelligentsia
", would be no stranger to this aggression.
Without, however, he admits, that these men expressly named this work as the reason for their intimidation enterprise.
Marek Halter filed a complaint, and the forensic science was at his home at the time of his interview with
Le Figaro
.
