Miesbach - The Riviera, which was cleared after the felling in the fight against the Asian longhorn beetle, is to be redesigned.
An initial plan is in place - the reason for the Free Voters' city council group to hold an online discussion with citizens on Thursday evening.
Local residents and young people in particular took part in the exchange of views.
City Councilor Aline Brunner acted as moderator.
The residents
The Riviera is bordered by residential developments in the north and south.
Especially on the north side, it is feared that the planned streetball facility could lead to permanent conflicts.
The reason is the noise.
On the other hand, the desire is great to get the old Riviera again - a green, quiet oasis with a lot of nature, living beings and trees, which should swallow the sound like in the past.
It would also be nice to have moderate lighting so that you can see something in the evening that does not dazzle the bedroom window.
Appeals were made several times not to overload the area.
For many, however, benches are very important - especially with a view of the senior citizens of the neighboring Vitanas home.
The youngsters
There are many playgrounds in the district town, but there is no open offer for young people in the open air - a big issue, as has been shown.
"Miesbach is boring," said a 16-year-old.
“We can't do anything here.” The streetball court is a good idea.
Small children would also benefit from this, he emphasized, "because they also get bigger sometimes".
He got approval from a 56-year-old Miesbacher who stated: “Nothing has changed in 40 years.” A 17-year-old found it “a shame and sad that Miesbach is never the first option for young people to do something here”.
She understands the residents and their need for rest, but “I only see young people hanging out at the train station”.
Maybe you just have to accept that these are loud.
A 16-year-old participant noted that the younger generation felt rejection: “Young people are not welcome.” With FuKK and Haindlkeller, there are two cellars, but nothing outside to sit down and relax.
Also, such an offer shouldn't be on the outskirts because young people don't have a car.
Street and basketball are definitely very popular.
Ex-city councilor Walter Fraunhofer and ex-Trachtler chairman Stefan Baumgartner suggested checking Waitzinger Park for the streetball court.
According to Baumgartner, the meadow is only mowed there anyway.
The other ideas
According to city councilor Markus Seemüller, direct access to the southern settlement to the Riviera was brought into play during the written collection of ideas through the city - without the detour via Bayrischzeller Straße.
Other suggestions include a fitness facility, covered tables and a connection to Waitzinger Park.
In the online discussion, an area for outdoor fitness, a herb garden, tree sponsorships and also the need for bike racks were discussed.
The woodwork and creativity of the playground should be based on that in the Schlierseer Kurpark.
The online discussion
The Free Voters tried out this new form of citizen participation on the Zoom online platform in order to enable a direct exchange of views despite Corona - with success.
Up to 44 participants followed the 100-minute event.
The discussion was objective and with a lot of understanding for other interests and points of view.
The further procedure
As Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller explained when our newspaper asked, the Riviera will be dealt with in the city council in March or April.
The results of the online discussion of free voters should be taken into account.
