The Turkish Republican People's Party (CHP) reiterated that the Turkish regime headed by Recep Tayyip Erdogan provided terrorist organizations in Syria with large quantities of weapons and ammunition illegally, condemning in this context the arrest of this regime's intelligence agencies who contributed to exposing this.
The party’s vice president and official spokesman, Faik Oztrak, said that Erdogan had ordered the intelligence services to transfer weapons and war equipment to terrorist organizations and at the same time put all those who exposed this operation in prison, referring to Erdogan’s efforts to lift parliamentary immunity again from Anis Berberoglu who exposed operations Providing terrorists in Syria with weapons and equipment.
In June 2017, an Istanbul court sentenced parliamentarian Oglu to 25 years in prison and ordered his arrest after accusing him of treason and espionage for giving him pictures of trucks carrying weapons for terrorists in Syria to Cumhuriyet newspaper in May 2015, but the Constitutional Court decided to release him and he was re-elected to parliament in 2018.
Oztrak added that Erdogan and the Justice and Development Party (AKP) were blocking the return of Berberoglu to parliament, despite the Supreme Court ruling that ordered it.
