A 10-year-old girl was raped during a robbery that occurred at the family home in one of the Negev settlements about a week and a half ago, and three suspects were arrested by the police, and their detention was even extended in the Magistrate's Court in Be'er Sheva.
The girl's father today (Sunday) expressed anger at what he called "abandonment" from which the residents of the Negev have been suffering for a long time.
"We are hurt to the depths of our souls, there should be a change in the country," the father clarified.
"For me, every person who enters a private area is a mortal. I do not care if he comes to rape my daughter or murder me. There can be no such lawlessness," the father added.
"People go into people's houses, rape girls in their bed, and if I shot him now I would be in jail."
He said the robbery happened on Saturday night, while the girl was inside her bedroom.
"The girl was in the Sabbath dress inside her bedroom, and she was being raped," the father continued.
He made sure he did not blame the police.
"The police are doing a good job, but we are not governors on the ground. They are doing what they want. No one can do anything," he added.
The three suspects who were arrested, two boys aged 17-17 and another 21-year-old resident of the Neve Midbar and Deir HaDag Regional Council, were arrested on suspicion of a series of burglaries in the area and committing sexual offenses on a minor.
Police said the investigation into the case is ongoing.
