After Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signed an agreement with the Greek prime minister, according to which vaccinated Israelis can enter and vacation in Greece without the need for isolation, a similar outline was agreed with Cyprus today.

At the moment, a delegation of senior officials from the neighboring country, led by the president, is in Israel.

According to the agreement, it appears that Israelis who received the two vaccine doses will be able to enter Cyprus as early as next month, without the need for isolation.

Cyprus is considered a success story when it comes to dealing with the corona virus when the number of infections and deaths in the country is very low relative to the size of the population.

Now, Cyprus is also joining the Seychelles and Georgia that receive vaccinated tourists from Israel and the expectation is that we will soon hear about more countries receiving vaccinated tourists from Israel.

Israeli tourists are expected to be the most sought after item in the tourism industry, with almost four million already receiving at least the first vaccine dose, and two and a half million of them having already received the two vaccine doses.

Countries whose names have come up in the context of negotiations with the Foreign Ministry are Estonia, England, Denmark and even Thailand, while in the Asian country which is very dependent on tourists, there is talk of opening up to the vaccinated as early as the second half of the year.

Currently, Ben Gurion Airport is closed to commercial flights at least until next Sunday, February 21.

The US administration does not like the decision not to allow passenger flights of American airlines to Israel and sent a message to Israel that if this does not change soon, there is a situation that will limit the possibility of landing El Al planes in the US.

At the same time, there is concern that more countries will join the pressure on Israel.

An emergency meeting will be held today at the Ministry of Transportation on the subject, during which it will be decided what the next step will be regarding the closing of the skies in the country.

Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi said at the beginning of his meeting with Cypriot Foreign Minister Nikos Christodolidis: "I am pleased to host my friend, the Foreign Minister of Cyprus, on his second visit to Israel. This is the fourth time we have met, showing the close relations between our countries. "Cyprus, and through you, also thank the President, for the recognition of the vaccinator's certificate, which will allow within a few weeks to increase the number of vaccinated tourists from Israel.

YONIK from the YONIK tourism group commented on the expected opening of Cyprus for the vaccinated from Israel: "As every year, we will hold a kosher Passover holiday at the Blue Lagoon Hotel by the sea in Paphos Cyprus. As of today, nearly 400 people have booked for Passover 2021. Of course. And will be celebrated with 1,000 people Ltd.

I believe we will need to run another hotel in light of the demand "

Nir Mazor, VP of Marketing at Aviation Relations, said, "The successful vaccination campaign allows us to start thinking ahead and plan vacations abroad and will allow Israeli tourists to rest in the most popular destinations safely in the spring and summer. The agreement with Cyprus joins Greece gives a boost to demand and security "In the past week there has been a 28% increase in demand for holidays and flights to the Greek and Cypriot islands, most of which focus on the upcoming Passover holiday and the months of May-September."
