Bad Heilbrunn residents are plagued by traffic noise.

Every day 15,000 vehicles roll through the community.

But now there is hope for many residents of the federal highways.

Bad Heilbrunn - The noise pollution of residents on the B472 in Bad Heilbrunn is so high, according to the report, that the federal government can grant a subsidy for noise protection measures.

That is the key message of a new report that Mayor Thomas Gründl presented at the latest municipal council meeting.

Resident Peter Miesen, who followed the meeting on the gallery in the Kursaal, heard it with pleasure: "The noise protection wall is not yet in place, but it is definitely a step in the right direction."

Noise protection wall has a long history

In the council meeting, Gründl referred to the long history.

The old municipal council had already asked the road construction office whether the noise protection on the B 472 could be improved.

The answer was that the road construction authority can grant subsidies on a voluntary basis if certain limit values are exceeded.

To prove this, an expert opinion is necessary.

The first report by the noise protection consultancy Steger und Partner dated December 4, 2019 destroyed all hopes.

But in the meantime the legal situation has changed.

Since August 1, 2020, new, lower "trigger values" have been in effect for noise abatement on federal highways.

The value for residential and village areas was lowered by three decibels to 64 decibels.

Little difference now makes a big difference

The supposedly small difference makes an enormous difference for many Heilbrunn residents.

Like many other residents, the Miesens have to endure an average noise exposure of 65 decibels during the day, according to reports.

In addition to the Bierhäuslweg, the residential buildings on the B 472 between Ludwig-Thoma-Ring and the street “Am Mutzenkreut” are particularly affected.

The noise pollution is also too high on some buildings south of Ostfeldstrasse.

According to the report, the traffic noise is greatest in Oberenzenau.

Since many buildings there are very close to the street, the limit values would be exceeded by up to seven decibels during the day and even by eight decibels at night.

In Oberenzenau, around ten homeowners can now hope for noise protection subsidies

Steger and Partner also make a number of suggestions for improvement in their report.

Noise barriers would not be effective in Oberenzenau.

The office therefore suggests “structural soundproofing such as the installation of soundproof windows and ventilation systems for bedrooms.

On Bierhäuslweg, Steger and Partner recommend a noise protection wall with a height of 1.5 to two meters: “It brings about a noticeable improvement, especially on the ground floors and in the garden areas of the areas most affected.

With a wall height of two meters, the upper floors are also better protected. "

In Oberenzenau, around ten homeowners can now hope for noise protection subsidies, six homeowners on Bierhäuslweg and another 20 on Ostfeld, says managing director Andreas Mascher.

“There is a lot of money involved.

I don't know what kind of voluntary subsidies the State Building Authority provides. "

Local residents hope for improvement

Peter Miesen looks to the future with optimism: "I hope that the construction costs for the noise protection wall on the pedestrian underpass are relatively low because the foundation is already there." He thinks it is "basically good" that the municipality has given the report has commissioned: “Now every resident can see how high the noise exposure is mathematically.” It is also positive that there is now the possibility of receiving measures: “Now we have to see how things go from here.

First we have to get together with the neighbors and the community. "
