President Alberto Fernández expressed this Sunday his "deep regret" for the death of Carlos Saúl Menem,
"With deep regret I learned of the death of Carlos Saúl Menem.
Always elected in a democracy
, he was Governor of La Rioja, President of the Nation and National Senator," the president wrote on Twitter.
And he sent his "love" to his ex-wife Zulema Yoma, his daughter Zulemita, and "to all those who mourn him today."
The President accompanied his message on the networks with a photo shaking the Riojan's hand in Congress.
With deep regret I learned of the death of Carlos Saúl Menem.
Always elected in a democracy, he was Governor of La Rioja, President of the Nation and National Senator.
In dictatorship he was persecuted and imprisoned.
All my love goes to Zulema, Zulemita and all those who mourn him today.
