The technical workshops of the General Company for Building and Reconstruction in Tartous completed all the basement work on the site of the College of Technical Engineering, and began mud works and electrical and sanitary installations.

The President of Tartous University, Dr. Issam Muhammad Al-Dali, stated in a statement to SANA's correspondence today that the works of the ground floor are being followed up with the listed on the college’s site, indicating that there is slow work by the implementing agencies that justified this by not securing the necessary quantities of cement by Omran Corporation at times Required, fluctuations in prices and weak financial allocations compared to them, noting that most of the financial appropriation has been disbursed for the year 2020, and the college has allocated one billion and 300 million Syrian pounds for the year 2021.

With regard to the College of Arts and Humanities building, he explained that its construction was started on the 22nd of July 2020, and until its date the site was settled and excavated, and the bases and retaining walls of the blocks ie 13 and 6 were poured, and work is currently underway at a high pace according to the timeline established, noting that it was allocated one billion and 300 million Syrian pounds for the year 2021.

As for the bridges connecting between the northern and southern sites in which the university building blocks are located on both sides of the Ghamma River, Al-Daly indicated that a contract has been signed with the General Company for Roads and Bridges, and work will be started upon completion of the procedures for signing the supervision contract, indicating that the implementation rates for the two direct projects are currently good with the need to secure The financial approval and financing necessary to build the university due to the higher costs than in previous years, in addition to taking into account price differences.

It is noteworthy that the value of the contract for building the College of Arts is about 13 billion and 581 million pounds, and the contract for the College of Technical Engineering is about 5 billion and 586 million pounds.
