The Finance Committee has approved a new draft budget for 2021.

The budget was reduced from 5.5 to 3.7 million euros.

Loans are not necessary.

- Mayor Josef Hauser looks at the new financial planning of the municipality "without stomach ache".

No additional borrowing is planned for 2021.

The deficit in the asset budget was reduced from originally 5.5 million euros to 3.7 million.

These are the key data of the new draft budget that the finance committee recommends to the local council for a resolution.

Chamberlain Katharina Laß presented the committee members with a revised version of the planned income and expenditure.

The basis for this was the potential for savings that the municipal council had suggested in its January meeting, as reported.

An essential item was the expenses for the fire brigades, which reignited lengthy discussions.

In Laß's draft, the new vehicles for the fire departments in Ascholding and Hechenberg were not on the plan until 2024 and 2025.

"Then we will have three TÜV-free fire engines in autumn 2023", objected Second Mayor Anton Huber (BLD) and suggested that it be preferable to buy at least one vehicle.

Jakob Pertold (BLD) spoke out in favor of purchasing a used vehicle as an interim solution.

“Otherwise in 20 years we will have the situation again that we have to buy five new cars at the same time.” A suggestion that Hauser could also make friends with.

In order to rectify the problem, the administration is to draw up a step-by-step plan, which provides for the replacement of a car at one of the seven local fire departments every three years.

Agreement at the Ascholding fire station

The committee members agreed on the recommendation not to postpone the construction of the fire station in Ascholding - as discussed recently in the local council - but to start as soon as possible.

According to Hauser's plan, the constitutional resolution for the development plan is to be passed in February;

He expects the shell to be completed by the end of the year.

The draft budget provides for 300,000 euros.

The still open measures of village renewal, however, will be frozen for the time being.

For the current year the draft contains only 77,000 euros for planning costs.

Laß expects a further 160,000 euros for the static protection of the vaulted town hall cellar.

According to Hauser, the expected grant of 60 percent for village renewal has not yet been included in the financial plan.

In the next year, the necessary work in connection with the renovation of the through-town road towards Obermühltal will be due - in particular the sidewalk, the cloister forecourt, the village square and the shell of the history trail on the Angerwiese.

For these measures, the Office for Rural Development (ALE) has promised to receive funding if they are completed by 2023, the mayor said.

The redesign of the Richteranger and the town hall courtyard as well as the completion of the history trail are not planned until 2024.

For these measures, the funding must then be applied for again, so Hauser.

Another possibility to relieve the budget in 2021 is likely to arise with the general renovation of the elementary and middle school.

500,000 euros are currently set for this.

According to the will of the finance committee, this planning approach should be reconsidered as soon as the commissioned architecture firm has presented current figures.

What is not urgently needed can be postponed until next year.

The new construction of the building yard in Obermühltal and the renovation of the connecting roads from Linden to Reuth and from Baiernrain to Linden and Lochen are also to be put on hold.

At the request of Bernhard Fuchs (FW), the finance committee also recommends that the municipal council postpone 170,000 euros from the budget of 420,000 euros for the new building of the Schützenheim in Linden to next year.

The reason: It is not realistic that the building will actually be finished this year.

Fuchs also referred to a possibility of increasing the income of the community: the planned sale of land on Klessingstrasse in Ascholding should be based on the type 2 local land value model, advises the committee.

The original plan was to surrender the land for half of its value.

The additional profit would reduce the budget deficit by a further 400,000 euros.

The local council is expected to vote on the recommendations on March 2nd.
