Holzkirchen - A burning VW Golf led to a complete closure of the A8 towards Salzburg on Saturday afternoon shortly before the Holzkirchen junction.
According to their own information, the motorway police received the information about a smoking vehicle around 4.10 p.m.
On site, the officials found that the 23-year-old driver from Heidelberg and his co-driver had already got out of the vehicle to safety.
Both were unharmed.
