Purim is approaching and with it the halakhic issues and various customs.

One of the topics that comes up on the agenda is the custom of dressing up on Purim, a custom that is especially popular among the youth.

This morning (Sunday) the Rebbe Rabbi Josiah Pinto, the head of the patriarchs in Morocco, commented on this, outlining a letter he sent to his students the halakhic sources on the subject. At the

beginning of his speech, Rabbi Pinto wrote:

It should be known that in ancient times in Morocco they did not dress up, and even the great ancient arbitrators came out decisively not to dress up on Purim, and feared 'a man will not wear a woman's dress' ".

The Rebbe brought the sources and what was customary in Morocco, where he serves as the head of the patriarchs of the courts: "And also the custom of the Gentiles and many brought the words of our Rabbi Hida Zatzokal in the book 'Lev David' (Pekh) and it is his language - and in my eyes it is simple, That if all Israel this day which Amalek sowed to the slaughter be overthrown, and this evil manna fell head over heels from an evil house, practice a holy order, and joy was sanctified to heaven, and the rest of the day are engaged in Torah each according to his lesson, in this reward we would be redeemed.

"And the clothes of Mahari Mintz (C.T.), which was one of the last of the first about five hundred years ago, bring this custom of costumes on Purim.

And the act is known in the "Vision of a Man" that on Purim a man came to his house, whose five-year-old daughter was dressed as a son.

And the vision rebuked a man and took a cloth from his house and told him to cover his daughter.

"" And here in ancient Morocco they did not dress, and certainly would not wear the clothes of a woman who has no permit.

But we have the words of the sons of Issachar (the month of Adar, Article 9) and this is his language, the custom of Israel Torah is, they used to change in different garments during the meal and Simchat Purim, and it is not an empty thing.

And continues our Rabbi Bnei Issachar Zatzokal, tells you what with my heart, I found I saw in the holy Zohar ... (Parashat Shelach) and ends and this is the language, and from now on your mountain before you is the custom of Israel Torah, who used to dress in different clothes to remember the miracle and wonder, The name will be blessed with Mordecai and Esther dressed in precious spiritual garments, what the righteous wear in heaven. Rabbi Pinto also quoted: "And it is also mentioned in the holy book" Light and Sun "(Shemot Parshas Mishpatim) in this language, it is worth giving praise for the custom of Israel who used to wear foreign clothes on Purim. And Ita Nami in the holy book" Language of Truth "(Purim) "And it is possible to give a hint to the custom of Israel to change clothes on Purim, to hint, etc. And we also find in many other scriptures that explain the taste of the custom and give it a taste for praise."

He brought an act that happened with the late Rama: "And the act is known in our Rabbi Rama Zatzokal who died in Lag B'Omer, aged three years. And he was mourned for two eulogies and arrested. Then one of the Tzaddiks who was worn out stood up and added one eulogy, on Purim The Rama would wear a mask and it was the eulogy and they saw it as a great sign, and wrote a lot of deep secrets about it.

Also the holy rabbi Rabbi Tzadok of Lublin zatzokal in his book "Likutei Amarim" (letter 16) writes, a custom to do all kinds of worn on Purim. And the custom of Israel Torah, Dahua on the way it is said "he who sits in heaven will play, the name will mock him" "

In the summary of his remarks, the Rebbe, Rabbi Pinto, instructs members of the Shuva Yisrael congregation on how to dress in practice:" And here we will try to behave in our holy community, that if we want to look for the children, only "For righteous and righteous saints, to instill in the little children the love of God and the fear of God, they will certainly not seek the children for impure things. And they will also make sure that no one wears a woman and no woman wears a man, because this is very harmful to the soul and the little ones."

In conclusion, the rabbi added in Pinto about the virtue of the approaching Purim day: "And man shall set before his eyes that on the day of Purim enormous attainments can be achieved, and all who lend a hand are given to him.

It is a time of salvation and mercy, certainly in the way a person wants to lilac, lead him.

And if a person walks in holiness, "God leads him in holiness and purity."
