An "incomprehensible" decision for the labor inspectorate
The union benefits from the support of the labor inspectorate.
In a letter dated February 8, which we have read, the latter considers this decision "incomprehensible since it is likely to expose drivers to an increased risk of contamination".
She explains in detail that without Plexiglas, the Covid risk is "slightly worsened".
"The abandonment of these protective measures appears worrying in the current context of new variants of the more contagious virus", she adds.
The RATP for its part is justified.
“Since the start of the health crisis, we have put in place reinforced measures for cleaning and daily nebulization action in the buses,” explains the management, adding that it will sell tickets from February 15 to “l 'image of other transport operators in Île-de-France ”.
According to RATP, “this measure responds to a request from Ile-de-France Mobilités and falls within the framework of our contractual obligations [...].
It also aims to return to the rituals of welcoming and informing customers by facilitating access to the bus by opening the two front half-doors.
The management also specifies that less than 2% of ticket sales are made on board and that the health context has generated a drop in traffic of around 30% in the buses.
