The Syrian Center for Human Rights' report was not confirmed by another reliable source • Syrian News Agency: Most of the missiles were intercepted by air defense systems
The official Syrian news agency Sana reports that the air defense systems in Damascus were activated last night (Monday) against an Israeli attack in the southwestern part of Damascus.
According to a report by the Syrian Ministry of Defense, around 01:00, missiles were launched from the Golan and Galilee areas to the Damascus area and most of the missiles were intercepted.
Report: Israeli attack in the Damascus area
The Syrian Center for Human Rights in London reported that at least six foreign nationals were killed, but this report has no other reliable source.
A Syrian source was quoted as saying by a Syrian source that the bombs had hit a military brigade of the Assad regime in the town of Kiswa, about 14 kilometers south of Damascus, where pro-Iranian militias are stationed.
According to the Step News website, which is affiliated with the Syrian opposition, Israel has attacked sites of Iranian militias near the town of Sakhnaya, south of the capital, on Mount al-Kiswa and Mount al-Mane.
Another website affiliated with the opposition reported that, among other things, an air base was attacked in the west of the capital, near the Damascus-Beirut road. It was further alleged that a weapons and ammunition depot exploded during the attack.
Earlier this month, it was reported in Syria that Israel had attacked targets in the Quneitra area and defense systems had been activated.
Israel has not confirmed that this is indeed an action of the Air Force.
However, this was the sixth attack attributed to Israel since the beginning of 2021.
