A wave of departures at work:

Many members of the Labor Party have decided to leave the party as a sign of protest over the outrageous remarks made in recent years by Abtisam Maraana, who is ranked seventh on the Knesset Labor list.

Following the scathing critique of Mara'ana's controversial and tumultuous series of posts, and the petition of dozens of Labor members to the Central Election Commission demanding that she be disqualified from running for the 24th Knesset due to her extremist views, some party members decided to abandon the political house.

One of the veteran members of the party told Israel Today: "I know of hundreds of members of the Labor Party who have announced that they will leave the job because of Maraana and because of the support she receives from Merav Michaeli."

In addition, some have announced that they will choose blue and white as a protest against Mara'a's statements and positions and also to strengthen Bnei Gantz, whom they prefer over Mara'a's path.

The same source told Israel Today that he noted in an internal group of Labor members: "I will remain a member of the Labor Party, but I will vote blue and white, mainly because I am not happy with the list for the Knesset." On the list - because Merav wanted it to be that way. '

In November 2020, Maraana, a film director and screenwriter, posted a post in support of Islamic Jihad operative and administrative detainee, Maher al-Ahras, who had been starving for a long time.

In another post in July 2020, Maraana wrote that: "Another young man from the Gaza ghetto committed suicide tonight.

There is no hope for despair, the brutal occupation and the oppressive Hamas rule. "

In another outrageous post, written in December 2016, Maraana posted a picture of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on her Facebook page, along with a hanging rope.

This is a poster that was placed at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, caused a stir and led to the interrogation of the student who designed it for the police on suspicion of incitement.

Maraana wrote in this post: "I stand behind her and by the side of the student from Bezalel," emphasizing that: "I do not know inciting art, I know inciting politicians."

The chairman of the Labor Party, Merav Michaeli, commented on the controversial posts: "Abtissam Mara'ana Manuhin is a person who opposes violence as far as violence is concerned.

It is enough to read the painful post she wrote when Esther Horgan was horribly murdered in the forest, to understand how much the woman opposes violence and does her best to eradicate it.

"The Labor Party is fully involved in action against violence and for peace. Self-defense of our borders and our right to live in this country is one thing, unnecessary violence is something that the State of Israel as a state has never advocated. We are committed to the Zionist vision - a state for the Jewish people with full equality. The work is back on track. '

Mara'a was not satisfied with these posts and near Memorial Day posted a post in which she wrote: "Eli, I did not stand at the siren, I was driving while the whole country was almost silent.

I decided to keep going and those were 2 wonderful minutes during the siren.

The road was empty, I kept thinking about what really interested me at that moment. '

In another post in April 2013, Maraana wrote in the context of Holocaust Remembrance Day: "How did the Holocaust affect the sex lives of Holocaust survivors?"
