At nearly 3 am on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year (February 16), a man fell from the height of a building at 459-461 Hennessy Road in Causeway Bay and lay in a back alley.
Rescuers arrived and confirmed that the victim was clearly dead.
As part of the stump fell on the platform, the firefighters spent more than hours climbing the ladder to the platform to clean.
According to sources, the victim's surname is Leung (59 years old), who works as a manager at a bank in Wan Chai. He and his ex-wife have a son. After divorce, he rented a house alone at the address.
Liang Nan has owed huge debts in recent years. He has cashed out on two floors, even took two jobs, and found a dishwashing worker to help him. However, he has been unable to pay off his debts. He still has more than one million yuan of debts unpaid and he has been repeatedly pursued.
Before the incident, he and his friend went home after supper and sent a suicide note to the friend via WhatsApp, revealing his death. Although the friend immediately called the police and rushed to the above address, he regretted that it was counterproductive.
The police are investigating the incident.
